Dr. (Sir) Walter Ibekwe Ofonagoro

Dr. Walter Ibekwe Ofonagoro is the Chairman and Founder of Stanwal Securities Ltd. Dr. Ofonagoro earned his Bachelors Degree with first Class honors in History from Trinity College, University of Toronto (1966). He then proceeded to Columbia University, New York where he earned the M.A. Degree (1967) and the Ph.D. (1972) in African Economic History, with primary emphasis in Nigerian Economic History.

Dr. Ofonagoro taught at Columbia University, New York, (1968 - 1973); Brooklyn College, City University of New York, (1973 - 1976), and held various adjunct and visiting appointments at New York University, Rutgers University, Long Island University, and Queens and City Colleges of the City University of New York. He left Columbia University and Brooklyn College, at the rank of Associate Professor of African Economic History, to return to Nigeria in 1976. In Nigeria, he taught Economic History at the University of Lagos, 1976 - 1982, as well as at the University of Ibadan, 1976 - 1979. He also lectured on a freelance basis at the Command and Staff College, Jaji, 1978 - 1981; and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru. Dr. Ofonagoro left the academic world for politics and business in 1982.

In 1980, Dr. Ofonagoro joined the Board of the Amalgamated Tin Mines of Nigeria Ltd., Bukuru. During that period, he was elected by his colleagues on the Board as Chairman of the Finance and Establishments Committee of the Board of ATMN.

Dr. Ofonagoro was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors, News Agency of Nigeria (1982). In 1983, he was appointed Director-General of Nigerian Television Authority.

From 1985 - 1991, Dr. Ofonagoro was full-time in business, running various enterprises in the fields of Construction, Haulage, and Consultancy. Since 1980, he has rendered Consultancy Services to various major international corporations, including Krupp Steel of Dusseldorf, Germany; Swiss-Chinese Railway Construction Consortium, Partizanski Put of Yugoslavia, Hungarian Shipyard and Crane Company, Budapest; A.G. Weser of Germany, and Ship and Transport Consultants (Shiptraco) of Hamburg.

In 1993, he returned to politics and served as the Director of Communications, Tofa Presidential Campaign Organization, National Republican Convention. In 1994, he was appointed Member of the Constitutional Conference Commission of Nigeria and served as Chairman of the Committee on Organization, Conference Convention and Publicity, of the Commission form 1994 - 1995. In 1995, Dr. Ofonagoro was appointed Federal Minister of Information and Culture. During his tenure, he was elected Chairman of the 113-nations Council of Information Ministers of Non-aligned Countries.

Dr. Ofonagoro has published extensively in the fields of Nigerian Economic history, including International Commerce, Banking, Finance, Currency and Labour. He is the recipient of over 25 academic awards and fellowships. These include: Trinity College and University of Toronto Fellowships; Columbia University Faculty and Honors Fellowships; the AFGRAD fellowship of African American Institute; the USA/UNESCO fellowship; and the Woodrow Wilson fellowship, Dr. Ofonagoro is a fellow of the Commonwealth Journalists Association of London (FCJA); an honorary fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (FNIPR), and an Associate fellow of the Historical Society of Nigeria (AHSN). He is also a Knight of St. Christopher (KSC), of the Church of Nigeria, (Anglican Communion), and a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International.

In 2002, he was named one of 2000 Intellectuals of the 21st century, by the International Biographical Center, Cambridge, England. In June 2004, he received the Distinguished Service Award from the Department of History, University of Lagos.

Dr. Ofonagoro is a devout Christian, a member of he Diocesan Synod, Diocese of Orlu; Chairman of the Diocesan Center Development Committee, Diocese of Orlu; and Member of the Provincial Synod, Owerri Ecclesiastica Province, Church of Nigeria, (Anglican Communion).

Sir Godwin Nwanedo Amah Anokwu

Sir Godwin Nwanedo Anokwu is a seasoned accountant who started his working career as a public health officer with the Government of Eastern Nigeria (1961 - 1966). He worked briefly with the Union Bank of Nigeria (1973 - 1974), before returning to Federal Civil Service in 1974, where he served in various capacities within the Federal Ministries of Defense, Finance, and the Presidency, Office of Establishments and Management Services.

During his career in the Federal Public Service, Sir Anokwu rose from the position of Accountant Grade II to the level of Deputy Director of Accounts in the Establishments and Pensions Office of the Presidency. As a Federal Civil Servant, Sir Godwin Nwanedo Anokwu attended many seminars and courses on Pensions and Financial Management both in Nigeria and overseas.

He represented the Federal Government of Nigeria at various official negotiations in Britain and the U.S.A, and represented the Federal Ministry of Establishments and Management Services on the Monthly Meetings of the Federation Account Allocation Committee. Sir Anokwu retired from the Federal Civil Service after 35 years of meritorious service. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Stanwal Securities Ltd.

Mr. Augustine Ofonagoro

Mr. Ofonagoro has been the Managing Director and Chief Executive of Stanwal Securities Ltd. since 1995. He began his career in financial management in 1964 at the Research Department of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Lagos. He was a staff of the Research Department Central Bank of Nigeria until 1971. He gained admission to Columbia University, New York, U.S.A., where he earned both his bachelors of Science (Honors) in Economics and Mathematical Statistics, (1975); and his MBA in Accounting and Finance, (1977) from the University's School of General Studies, and Graduate School of Business, respectively.

Mr. Ofonagoro worked for the Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States, New York, (1974 - 1975). He also served in the Finance Department of PAN-American Airways, New York, as Financial Analyst II (1978 - 1979) and as Financial Analyst I (1979 - 1982).

In 1982, he returned to Nigeria and joined the services of Mobil Oil Nigeria Ltd., where he worked in Planning Department and the Finance and Services Departments as Staff Analyst, Finance and Controls. In 1990, Mr. Ofonagoro left the services of Mobil Oil Nigeria Limited, and joined Thomas Kingsley Securities Limited, as Deputy Vice President in charge of Capital Markets. In 1991, he became a Chartered Stockbroker and in 1992 he was promoted to Vice President in charge of Capital Markets, a position which he held until 1995, when he joined Stanwal Securities Limited, as the pioneer Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Ofonagoro is a fellow of the Charted Institute of Stockbrokers of Nigeria.

Mr. Stanley Ofonagoro

Mr. Ofonagoro attended Pace University, New York, USA for his undergraduate and postgraduate studies, and earned his Bachelors degree in Finance (1999), and his MBA in International Business (2001).

During his studies in the United States, Mr. Ofonagoro worked as a graduate student assistant with Pace University and as an equities researcher with Value line Publishing Inc., New York. He joined Stanwal Securities in October 2003 as Assistant Manager in charge of Finance and Administration. Mr. Ofonagoro currently serves as the Head of Finance & Market Research. Mr. Stanley Ofonagoro is an alumnus of King's College, Lagos.

Mr. Walter V. Ofonagoro (Jr.)

Mr. Ofonagoro commenced his undergraduate studies at Webster University, Geneva, Switzerland in 1996. In 1998 he transferred to Pace University, New York, USA, where he earned his Bachelors degree in Finance (2001) and his MBA in Financial Management (2004).

During his studies in the United States, Mr. Ofonagoro worked as a ICT consultant with Pace University's Computer Science Laboratories. Following his graduation in 2001, Mr. Ofonagoro secured a position with the Housing International Organization (an affiliate of the United Nations) as Manager Information and Communications Technology and was responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and administration of their ICT Networks. Mr. Ofonagoro returned to Nigeria in December 2005 and joined Stanwal Securities as the Manager Information & Communications Technology. Mr. Ofonagoro is an alumnus of King's College, Lagos.

Mrs. Adaeze S. Williams

Mrs. Williams's undergraduate studies were conducted at Mary Mount College, Tarrytown, New York, USA, where she earned her Bachelors degree (Cum Laude) in Finance (1998).

During her studies in the United States, Mrs. Williams worked as a student assistant attached to various departments within the University. Following graduation, she secured a position with the prestigious, world renowned investment banking firm, Merrill Lynch & Co. where she worked from 1998 till 2002. During that time she rose from a Junior Financial Analyst to the position of Assistant Vice President (Corporate Finance). She returned to Nigeria in 2002 and secured employment with Capital Bank International (CBI, formerly CBCLN) as a senior banking officer. She remained with CBI from 2002 until October 2005 when she joined Stanwal Securities as the senior manager in charge of Operations. Mrs. Williams is an alumnus of Queen's College, Lagos.
